You think you have a bad day?

Having a Bad Day?

Fire authorities in California found a corpse in a burned out section of forest while assessing the damage done by a forest fire. The deceased male was dressed in a full wet suit, complete with scuba tanks on his back, flippers, and face mask. A post-mortem revealed that the person died not from burns, but from massive internal injuries. Dental records provided a positive identification.

Investigators set about to determine how a fully clad diver ended up in the middle of a forest fire. It was revealed that on the day of the fire, the person went for a diving trip off the coast some 20 miles from the forest. The fire-fighters, seeking to control the fire as quickly as possible, called in a fleet of helicopters with very large dip buckets. Water was dipped from the ocean and then flown to the forest fire and emptied. You guessed it. One minute our diver was making like Flipper in the Pacific, the next he was doing the breast stroke in a fire dip bucket 300 feet in the air.

Apparently he extinguished exactly 5'10" of the fire. Some days it just doesn't pay to get out of bed - This article was taken from the California Examiner, March 20, 1998

stupid quote

I got this from

"I think that the film Clueless was very deep. I think it was deep in the way that it was very light. I think lightness has to come from a very deep place if it's true lightness."

I so agree wif xl~
But u muz also agree that he does contribute to the "atmosphere" of this blog eh?

Think nowadays got more things to read on class blog le. Yet the ppl that frequent this place is still the same old ppl.
Maybe i should like share about mj's life. =)

Hmm.. Yup for those of u who might not noe, i'm in mj.It is not too bad a sch actually except the fact that we don have lots of fun everyday. The common phrase that u hear is "Wan to go to the library to mug??"I must say that the culture is really not as charming as vj
and u noe wad?? the common destination of ppl after sch is either the library or home.Last week was chocolate week and they had chocolate fondue leh!!!Rmb our fundraising attempt?? xp

Yup. So more about the sch. It has a main theme colour of dark blue and grey which makes ppl remark that it looks like a jail. The food in the school canteen is also of comparable standard to those found in jails or even hospitals. Yuck! Vj ppl be glad of ur canteen okie. I totally miss the food there!! Brownies, malay rice, fresh watermelon juice, snapple.... Chuan lui and his daily fix of black coffee...lolz.

I kinda miss the aircons in every classroom too!! Here i have to endure the hot blazing sun(though it has been raining almost daily! xp) everyday!! I miss the free seating previliage that u all have. We are stuck in one fixed corner for the whole year!! No chance to sit wherever we like and also couples can't sit together. Teachers are forever present during lectures to check on u and the lecturers are ...well i donno how to describe. Now that i have experienced all the lectures, I can safely say that vj's maths lecture is the best man. It is the most comprehensive and the one wif the most examples! U come try mj's one and most prob u will juz end up all blur. xp

And ppl! Pls don complain about the amount of assignments that u have to hand in okie!! I have to hand in my assignments+tutorials+lecture notes for checking! No chance for me to be slip-shod in my work le. And my class only has ONE boy. Haiz.. The thorn amongst all the roses. They are also not lame so my lame jokes goes unappreciated. Haiz..

Btw, how's our class tee?? xp
Takkaire all,

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet...

Here's something interesting...

You must have seen some text like " Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet," on some sites/pages. They seem random and don't mean anything....

What is that? Wikipedia says this:
In publishing and graphic design, lorem ipsum (or simply lipsum) is standard placeholder text used to demonstrate the graphic elements of a document or visual presentation, such as font, typography, and layout. Lipsum also serves as placeholder text in mock-ups of visual design projects before the actual words are inserted into the finished product. When used in this manner, lipsum is also called greeking.

I just wondered what this chunk of text meant. So I googled and found these..

Very interesting explanation to the text.

And even Microsoft documents it XD

Even better, generate in other langauges!

Sports day

Most people agree that the school should ban college rep.'s -members of school sports teams- from participating in sports competitions within the school, such as interhouse soccer or even Sports Day, so as to give others an opportunity to win. If this is justifiable, shouldn't we ban performing groups from participating in MusicFest? What are your views?

Class spirit

Haiz...I suppose the class spirit died down in the second term. In the first term everyone was bugging me to organise outings. When I finally overcame my laziness and organized some, no one turns up. HaHa...irony of life. Now everyone seems so busy...chuan lui busy courting his girl, yong wen busy courting luzhuo some girl, me busy ogling my girl, xiang long busy courting silvia, silvia busy courting xiang long, vanessa busy courting her guy her guy busy courting vanessa, mac busy courting me, timo busy courting his handphone his drill cane, Apu and Kamal busy chasing their cricket balls, Jian Fei, Ruo Han, ... , busy chasing the mouse pointer on the computer screen...

The Signs of Aging

The following excerpt was taken from an MSN Messenger conversation in which Chuan Lui describes his life at the moment. Special thanks to MSN® Messenger®.

I feel that I'm aging. Real soon. Real fast. Real rapidly. 10 signs to show it.

  1. I begin treasuring every sunrise I see. Though I'm usually copying homework in the concourse and see nothing but "All - Hall". For I'm not sure if I'd see the sunrise tomorrow.

  2. I appear to be like a real bummer, delegating duties and assigning responsibilities. But I just want to make sure nothing somewhere will be incomplete without me.

  3. I go around tasting palatable good food I used to enjoy. For I wonder what incense will taste like.

  4. y=ex. Reflect that in the x-axis. That'd probably be how exponentially my energy level is decreasing everyday.

  5. I wonder if me being in the family is really a treasure. Or am i just grass. Translate that into chinese yourself because I just lack the energy to do so.

  6. Looking into the mirror, I see hair that is no longer black. In fact it contrasts with that.

  7. Ask a teenager what coke is like to him. And you'd probably know what coffee is like to me. Simple perking.

  8. "Yo what's up!" no longer appeals to me as a greeting. It lost to "WAH GIA LIT BO TAI JI ZO, SI BEH SIAN AR!"

  9. When I see pretty girls, I really wish they were mine. My granddaughters. Such that I can show them off to the other ah peks at the coffee shop the next day.

  10. I start to search for my Design and Technology (DnT) notes in secondary school. I want the best kind of lacquered wood to sleep with for the rest of my life. Or is it only 5 days after which they'd just make me so hot.

GP issues? Perhaps.

Some elderly in Singapore begin to feel that they are ostracised by the society. Discuss.

I hope my points helped.
